Preparation for Chinese New Year

As Chinese New Year is approaching in less than a week's time, Mommy and Daddy were also busy preparing for the BIG day.

Mommy could not get over yesterday's Chinatown learning journey, she dragged Daddy and me back again. We bought some "wax duck and sausages" for Nai Nai and Yeh Yeh. And we had dim sum lunch at Da Dong Restaurant.

We are almost done with Gerald's new stuff like clothes and pyjamas. We just need to buy new shoes for him. But Mommy needs to do last minute shopping as she just bought a dress for First Day of CNY.

PoPo met us at Tampines Mall this afternoon, she went shopping with Mommy. She bought a new set of clothes for me!!! Thank you, PoPo! Next, we went to a Nursery in Jalan Kayu. Wow! What a crowd! Cars streaming in the aisle, jamming the road leading to the Nursery. Daddy let us alight while he parked the car across the street.

This was my first time visiting a nursery. There were different variety of flowers selling quite reasonably.

PoPo bought Four Season Lime at $18 per pot and 3 small pots of flowers at $10. Cheap sale! Mommy and Daddy will be heading back to the nursery to get some too as today was too crowded to take a good look at the flowers.

Mommy

Gerald's School Excursion to Chinatown

Gerald's childcare arranged for a trip to Chinatown on 16 Jan 09, Friday. It was drizzling when we reached there. Fortunately, it stopped when we alighted the school bus.

As it was about 11am, most stalls were just opened for business. The children strolled along the five foot way while their teachers explained the some Chinese Traditions and customs. Everyone was very thrilled by the sight and sound, especially our non-chinese friends and teachers.

We saw lots of ornaments, red packets and fruits. Mommy and the teachers bought some back to the centre so that we can set up a "Celebration Table" for children to view.

It was a fruitful learning journey as the children got to experience the joyous festive mood and also learn the meaning of celebrating Chinese New Year with their friends.

Mommy

Yamaha's Music Wonderland

Daddy and I have decided to switch Gerald's music class to Yamaha. As we felt that Gerald had difficulty understanding what was taught in the previous music school. Both of us sat in the class before and strongly agreed that the lesson was too 'high-level'... Learning about 'crotchet' etc at his age. What we want is to let Gerald enjoy and appreciate music.

According to Daddy, the first lesson was fun as it was full of singing.
